The Peace Jesus Paid for Is Yours — Are You Living in It?
True peace isn’t the absence of noise, conflict, or struggle — it’s the presence of Christ Himself. In this post, Min. Ife Makinde explores what it means to live anchored in God’s peace, how to guard it in a restless world, and why only Jesus is the Prince of Peace.

This week, Min. Ife Makinde dissects what it means to be in God’s peace.

The Beginning: Sorrow After the Fall

Following the fall, man was to eat the fruit of his labor in sorrow (Genesis 3:16–17). Blessings could still come, but they were often birthed in pain. Emotions, when unchecked, create atmospheres — and sorrow became the atmosphere of the fallen man.

Jesus Paid for Our Peace

Jesus has already paid the price for us to live in peace (Isaiah 9:7). So why do many believers still walk in anxiety, unrest, or even sin?

Like in 1 Samuel 16:4–5, things can enter our lives without peace or even erode it. And though God promises not to tempt us beyond what we can bear, some battles cannot be handled by human strength alone — we need His help (2 Corinthians 1:8–9).

When Unrest Comes

Unrest is not random; it is a sign from heaven.

  • Anxiety, mood swings, or fear are calls to check your atmosphere.
  • Sometimes unrest comes because we have entertained jealousy, bitterness, or ill feelings.
  • Peace is a gift from God, and it must be guarded.

Like David, we must learn to speak to our souls:

“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits” (Psalm 103:1–2).

The Call to Stillness

Whenever life’s cares press on us, they should not erode our peace. God’s Word, planted in our hearts, anchors us to His promises.

  • Hold your peace.
  • Be calm, trusting, and still before Him.
  • Let God do the deed while you remain anchored in Him.

John 16:33 assures us: “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

A Testimony of Peace

Min. Ife once shared an experience from the start of his career that greatly robbed him of peace. He longed for a change, but God kept him in that season, using the situation to work on him.

When it ended, he realised the true change had happened inside him. The lesson: many things we desire — a job, a child, possessions, even marriage — can be obtained in sorrow if not from God. But peace only comes with what God gives.

What Peace Really Is

Peace is not what the world defines it to be.

  • Peace is not the absence of conflict.
  • Peace is not the absence of noise.
  • Peace is not the absence of something.

“For most people, peace is the time with no war, or a time with no conflict, or as simple as a time with no noise. Take note that this peace is always the absence of something. In the Kingdom of God, peace is the presence of Someone; peace is a Person. Jesus is the Prince of Peace.” – Min. Ife.

Wherever Jesus went — in His miracles, His teachings, His encounters — He first established peace (John 20:19–22). And He expects us to do the same.

Don’t Walk Alone

One of the enemy’s strategies is isolation. Don’t go through trials alone — that’s how unrest grows in your heart. Share your burdens with brethren who can uphold you in prayer and encouragement.

A Word for Today

The Lord will not send a man who has not entered into His rest. Today, He is lifting burdens and breaking the spirit of heaviness from hearts.

Beloved, hold firmly to His peace.

It is not fragile.

It is not circumstantial.

It is eternal — because peace is Christ Himself.

✨ Peace be with you, always. ✨
