The Laws of Redemption (Part 5): Walking in the Law of the Spirit of Life

Law of Redemption 5
Faith without obedience is incomplete. The Law of Circumcision calls every believer to a deeper consecration — a spiritual cutting away of the flesh so that we can walk in purity and hear God clearly. When sin is unchecked, it weakens faith, empowers the enemy, and clouds discernment. But as we mortify the flesh and yield to the Spirit, we grow into the kind of vessel God can trust and use.

We’ve finally arrived at the last law in the Laws of Redemption series — the Law of the Spirit of Life. This law is different. While some laws explain what Christ accomplished, this one focuses on what the believer must embrace to walk in victory.

Romans 7 and 8 give us the clearest picture of the struggle every believer faces. Paul describes an inner conflict: “The good I want to do, I don’t do. The evil I don’t want to do, I keep doing.” It is the cry of someone who loves God but hasn’t yet developed enough capacity to conquer the flesh.

Pastor Goke put it simply: your biggest enemy isn’t the devil — it’s your flesh.

The flesh operates under what Scripture calls the law of sin and death — an inner gravitational pull that drags a person toward sin. And until you confront this law head-on, spiritual progress is impossible.

But God didn’t leave us helpless. He introduced another law — the Law of the Spirit of Life. This law empowers the believer to rise above sin and walk in freedom. It is tied to a specific kind of life: Zoe.

Pastor Goke described three dimensions of life:

  • Bios — physical life

  • Suche — the life of the soul

  • Zoe — the God-life, the force that raised Christ from the dead

Whenever God wants to shift a destiny, break a negative cycle, or empower His people for victory, He releases Zoe. Romans 8:3 reveals an entire economy in God designed to blot out sin — and Zoe is the key.

But Zoe doesn’t flow automatically. There are decisions and disciplines required to walk by the Spirit. Galatians 5 describes the works of the flesh clearly, reminding us that spiritual dominion requires intentional separation. You must take responsibility for your habits, consumption, environment, and company.

So how do we actually unleash Zoe? Pastor Goke outlined four simple but powerful steps:

  1. Hunger for God — spiritual hunger is a real currency. God fills the thirsty.

  2. Take responsibility — cut off anything that misaligns your heart.

  3. Speak life aggressively — your words activate spiritual realities.

  4. Write down your battles — pray over them and track your growth.

As you walk this path, Romans 8:11 promises that the same Spirit that raised Jesus will give life to every part of you — your mind, your emotions, your decisions, your destiny.

But there’s a principle we must not miss: purging comes before leading. You cannot walk in divine direction while your flesh is still in charge. True spiritual strength is purity. God is far more concerned with who you become than what you acquire.

A true priest is someone who is more aware of the spiritual realm than the physical. And whether we admit it or not, spirits see us clearly. You can hide sin from men, but never from spirits.

There is a unique grace and anointing waiting on the other side of your victory over sin. The enemy knows that if you ever conquer your flesh, your life will explode with purpose. And that’s why he fights so hard to keep believers bound.

The Law of the Spirit of Life is God’s answer — His strategy for our transformation. If you embrace it, walk in it, and yield to the Spirit, you will rise above the flesh and step into your God-ordained destiny.
