How Men Limit God (Part 3)

What is your biggest challenge right now? Do you truly believe that God is able to solve it? How would you feel if that problem does not get solved on time? Would it make you lose faith in God?

“Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; is there anything too difficult for Me?”- Jer 32:27 (NKJV)

Sometimes, God sends us challenges to build our capacity for what He wants to do with us. Every challenge is our training ground for achieving victory and manifesting God’s glory. However, the outcome of our trials can be a result of our posture and beliefs about them.

When the twelve Israelite spies returned from Canaan, 10 of them described the Canaanites as giants that would devour them. However, only two spies – Caleb and Joshua – saw the people of Canaan as bread for their own sustenance. Our vision is vital for us to achieve victory. We limit God when we cannot see ourselves in possession of the things that God has promised us.

MORE WAYS IN WHICH MEN LIMIT GOD

“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” – Mark 16:17-18 (KJV)

One of the ways that we limit God is doubt. Many of us do not believe God in the depths of our hearts. As believers, we want miracles and see them as sporadic events. Yet, even Jesus tells us that the miraculous is our natural as people who believe in Him. Sometimes, we find it difficult to believe God because He is invisible, however, we must stop measuring things by what we see physically. This is why we should meditate on God’s word and kill the doubts in our hearts.

“Behold, the Lord‘s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.” – Is 59:1-3 (KJV)

Another factor that limits the potency of God’s works in our lives is sin. Sin draws us away from God and His protection. It further provokes God’s judgment against us and makes us unable to receive blessings from Him. We must always flee from all appearances of evil and strive to walk perfectly before God. It is possible with God, and the Holy Spirit is right there to help us.

“….But the people that know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” – Dan 11:32b (ASV)

Lack of deep knowledge of God and His word is a major impediment to our belief in God’s infinite nature. As believers, we must be firmly rooted in the study of the word to overcome demonic oppression. A prayerful, righteous, consistent man without knowledge will remain in bondage. People of God perish for lack of knowledge but the righteous is delivered through knowledge. Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life – the intimate and experiential knowledge of the truth sets us free. The path to knowing this truth lies in staying in the word.

We serve a God who raised the dead, brought forth water out of a rock, and split the red sea into two. He made the entire world that we live in by merely speaking and willing them into existence. So great are His works that since He made the entire creation, the universe has been sustained without the need to create new nature. He knew you before you were born and He wrote a script for your life before you were conceived. He knew the challenges that would come your way, and He also made ways out of them already. All you have to do is believe him wholeheartedly.

Is this meant to be “word”, not “work”?
